Miramar Federal is providing this notice. We are dedicated to providing you with products and services to meet your financial goals anywhere, any way, any time.  Keeping your personal financial information secure and confidential is our utmost priority. Information Sharing within the Miramar Federal Family

Miramar Federal takes an integrated approach to financial services. We want to provide and make recommendations about a variety of financial services to you. For this reason, we may share any of the personal information that we collect about you among companies within the Miramar Federal family unless you choose to limit this information sharing and marketing.

Information Sharing outside the Miramar Federal Family

We may share the following information to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements:

  • Information we receive from you on application or other forms, such as your name, address, and account identifiers.

We may also disclose nonpublic personal information about you as permitted or required by law. That may involve information in connection with a subpoena or similar legal process, a fraud investigation or the recording of Trust Deeds (mortgages) in public records.

Information about former members

If you terminate your membership with Miramar Federal, we will not share information we have collected about you, except as may be permitted or required by law.

Important Privacy Choices for Consumers

You may limit our affiliate, FlightDeck Financial Services, LLP, from marketing their products or services to you based on your personal information that we collect and share with them. This information includes your income, your account history with us, and your credit score. As a member service, we will also limit credit union marketing to you. Your choice to limit marketing offers from us and our affiliate will apply until you tell us to change your choice. If you have already made a choice to limit marketing offers from our affiliates, you do not need to act again. Any member or joint account owner may limit marketing, and we will treat the request as applying to all members/owners on the account(s).

How does Miramar FCU protect my personal information? To protect Your personal information from unauthorized access and use, We use security measures that comply with Federal Law.  These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
How does Miramar FCU collect my personal information?

We collect Your personal information, for example, when You

  • open an account or deposit money
  • pay Your bills or apply for a loan
  • use Your credit or debit card

We also collect Your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus , affiliates, or others.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives You the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about Your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using Your information to market You
  • sharing for non-affiliates to market You

State laws and individual companies may give You additional rights to limit sharing.

Definitions
Affiliates Companies related by common ownership or control.  They can be financial and non-financial companies.  Miramar FCU has no affiliates.
Non-Affiliates Companies not related by common ownership or control.  They can be financial and non-financial companies.  Miramar FCU does not share with non-affiliates so they can market You.
Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between non-affiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to You.  Our joint marketing partners include categories of companies, such as

  • financial service providers
  • insurance companies
